Second Man In 2 Days Killed In Motorcycle Crash With Deer: PA State Police

A motorcyclist fatally struck a deer on Wednesday morning, Oct. 2, the Pennsylvania State Police said.

Donald E. Guldin, 57, of Lower Macungie Township, was driving a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the area of State Route 100 near Windy Road in Lowhill Township, Lehigh County when he struck a deer at 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, according to the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio. 

Guldin was pronounced dead at the scene, Buglio said. The cause of death is "Blunt Force Trauma to Head" and the manner of death is "Accident," according to Buglio's release.

State Route 100 North was closed during the investigation, state police said. The road was reopened at 8:12 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Lehigh County Coroner's Office, Fogelsville Fire Department, and Cetronia Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Station is investigating.
